The reason I did not to fly today

The fuselage is alright, but the wings were a disaster. Upon closer look the motor fell off. Will later take off the cowling and see just how much it will take to put the motor back on. Even with the wings off I can still taxi the plane in a better conditioned area. Maybe also I can try and build two new wing halves using the examples learned from the flite test videos.

Saturday, I drove toward the club field for their fly-in/cookout. I realized halfway there that I wasn't chilled that morning because it was really cold, but because I had the flu. I proceeded to be miserable all weekend and I'm taking off work today to recover.

For the last 4-6 days I was in the hospital for ulsers in the back of my leggs. Could not have gone flying then as it was quite cold and very windy. Now that I am home, nothing as of now has changed weather wise. Guess my flying will be restricted to indoor flying agin!

Wind and freezing fog and rain. I can fly in a modicum of wind but the prospect of freezing rain getting into my motors seems less than ideal to me...

Wow... nice landing... I guess the electrical company is rich now? :p

Over here most electrical stuff is under the ground, but the fire department had a busy day with their chainsaws.
I'm afraid two people died when trees fell on their cars ...

EDIT: those trees fell because of the wind of course, not because of the firemen (to avoid confusion)

Its that time of year where the temps are in the 30's, 40's or 50's so indoor flying will be the norm for a while. Also wind gust up to 60 mph for the next few days are expected.

Call me crazy but when the Polar Vortex comes to town, its time to put the planes away and get out the plans and beginn another winter project.

"That guy"
40 mph wind driving the pounding rain sideways.

I was able to torture the cats for a while with the NANO QX though. So there's that.

I was going to buy some more DTFB today so I can get some building done while it's raining all week... but transporting DTFB between the store and car and car into house while it's raining seems like a good way to end up with warped board. Maybe I'm being paranoid.
