Today I started on the fuselage of a simple stick. I noticed the top cover seemed too long, so I proceeded to cut it shorter. At the wrong end. But other than that, it went together pretty smoothly. And that was an easy part to make a replacement for.
Dry fitting the top sections on.
Looks like there's something missing.

Just finished my Simple Stick like an hour ago. Overall it was a really simple build, and it came together really well. I made a couple of modifications to it, but other than that, it's all the same. I haven't maidened it yet, but I hope to do so soon. Mine is currently tail heavy by about an inch, but I think I'll be able to fix that with a camera or something.

Just tried to maiden it, and It probably would have flown if I didn't chicken out and try to land it immediately. Motor came off. Have to repair it. Also, does anyone know a good way on how to mount an emax cf2212 well? That's what came off.

Did the motor not come with one of those X shaped mounts? Screw that into the firewall. Your first pic looks like you glued the motor on. That will never work.
The plans are great! I flew one several times, but due to confusion with FliteTest's Simple Stick build video made the airfoil symmetric and it was a bit difficult to find the correct wing incidence.
I just built a second one, with a modified wing with a total of 1.4m wingspan. I'll post pictures/video when it flies!

I did partly glue it, but I also had bolts through the firewall.

And the motor was given to me and I don't have an x mounting thing

i am needing a good trainer that;ll run on 2217 1400kv 1045 prop... and a 2200mah 3s lipo...

I'm using a motor with 1200 kv with a 1550 mah 3s with a 9 by 4 prop, and it definitely has enough power to lift off, so I would say that would work. I'm not super experienced though, and I would wait until The Hanger replies to be sure.
