My nephew has been flying RC for the last couple of years, I`ve had this old pylon style three channel with a Cox .09 hanging up from the late Sixties, did put a Dsm2 receiver in it years ago but never flew it. Anyway he wants to fly it I told great take it with you, he cleans up the tank lines and carb gets it up and running a couple weeks later I get this call that he flew it. Just on and on and on complaining how did you guys fly these back in the day it won`t turn left or right just barely had a heck of a time getting it back to the field and almost lost it.

Have to admit it kind of stunned me I had set up the receiver so I new that was right I told him on your way home bring it by and I can look at it. We pull it out of his truck hook up the battery and he is working the controls the rudder was not working, then I notice. Hey bud you do know with a three channel rudder is on the aileron stick right, the look on his face wish I would of had a camera it was priceless.

Still cant properly use rudder, left hand is somewhat worthless in coordinated use. Need a shoulder strap to hold radio also, drop it otherwise, known fault.
I have to always use a strap watching some of these guys fly with the transmitter straight down in front of them ain`t going to happen.

Thanks for making me feel normal.

On my 2 channel slopers, I could hold the radio like that, but the transmitter was small and light.
