...vrs steel music wire for landing gear?

I have a short landing strip of a rather rough grass surface. Flat stock aluminum is out of the question. I have always used heavy music wire, but after repeated re-straightening they kinda lose strength. I don't want to bother with tempering.

Anyway, I have considered trying carbon fiber landing gear. any thoughts? I'm worried that it's possible the gear will survive rough landings, but the plane may not.

All the grass on our landing strips here is the same - not suitable for landing on with wheels. The best solution is to remove the gear and belly land.

Depending on what your anchor point is, you'll likely damage the plane by using a material without give.
