Somebody needs more bees in their bonnet.... Just sayin'Not sure I saw importance, just got a bee in my bonnet lol
That's up to you. I envisioned an "X" type profile, but as I've said, I know nothing about them. I saw a pic of a biplane with a single, vertical profile, and it not only looked good, it looked like it was highly 3d capable. That would also lessen the weight, which is good, but there's less real estate for the expensive bits.I'm gonna try and whip something up tonight. @buzzbomb do you want the fuse to be a single vertical piece or do you want it to be an X with a vertical and horizontal plate?
I will get it finished up and a couple built in the next day or 2.Somebody needs more bees in their bonnet.... Just sayin'You definitely jumped right in there. I'm glad you did.

Looking good! The fuse is clean and the wing is simple. What's the part in the lower right? So here is where I am at, not going to have time till tomorrow to do anything with this. I have to clean up the plan, motor mount needs dashes for folds and needs reference to the fold type, cg marks need to be added. Tho it builds like a normal pod but with a top piece. There will be scrape pieces from the nose, these I am sure can be glued to the firewall front for aesthetics. Main fuse gets laminated together, the vertical stab and rudder gets laminated. Rudder glues on after the horizontal stab and elevator is slotted in place. Firewall slides in from the front. Wing slots in to the fuse. Not sure if smaller then 9gram servos is a good idea, but would be nice. Esc should be up front, same with battery. Hoping the tail servos can go right to the rear to make short linkages. Will need to use longest servo arms you have, and made closest hole on the horn. Goal is to have 60deg throw on all surfaces. Prop should be as big as possible with a very small pitch, lower voltage and a bigger prop is the ticket. This is designed for a 2205, but an A pack should work as well. Thinking a 3s 1100mAh, but of course it comes down to wieght vs flight time. Battery may need to be mounted very forward.
LOL. Aren't you lucky that you know me, then?no pictures, it didn't happen. And it's not just who you know, its when who you know knows everything.
That would be the power pod.Looking good! The fuse is clean and the wing is simple. What's the part in the lower right?
I can't find fault with this.I would have done something, but I went flying instead today lol
Man, she is a beaut! That is a butt-ton of aileron, rudder and elevator authority, right there! I like your solution for the power pod conundrum as well. It doesn't get much simpler than that, and you could use skewers if you wanted to change it out.I liked the look of the Crack Yak so I based pretty much everything off of it. Here's what I got so far, I went for a simple approach so it's only a single sheet wing and I kept the fuse a single vertical piece. I removed the internal paper on the fuse (it's two sheets of foam laminated together) to save weight. I was also able to fit all the parts on a single sheet of foam.
Current Specs
Wingspan 28ish in.
Length 30ish in.

I think I'll lengthen the nose on the next prototype when <cough> I mean if it flies, depending on how easy it is to get good CG.
What size of battery are you using? I am a little torn on that right now. Experience with these 2205's tell me I need 30amp esc and 2200mAh pack. But I am thinking a f pack comes with a smaller esc, 2205, and 6x3 props. So might be able to get away with a 800mAh packBattery is charging!!

It's relatively easy to get good CG, but I think I'll lengthen the nose just a bit.
I did double up the rudder, but after I looked it at I realised it was pointless, just tunnel vision from making plans. It is just a single piece of paper, glue hinge.I see you doubled up the rudder, how did you do the hinge?
