I flew a helicopter that I have FPV today, but I had the focus on the goggles wrong and didn't realize and now I have a headache. I probably won't be doing any more flying today. I just wish that the EMAX transporter 2s have a fully adjustable focus-not just three presets. I might be able to use the screen on its own.

I have some super cheap analog goggles that I got for "free" (basically picked before being dumped in the trash). They are actually pretty darn good for free with a usb rechargeable lipo, but they have NO focus control. Can't use them with my old eyes except as a display.

I get the urge to get a small heli from time to time, but know it really really really would not be a good idea to go down that path. If I did, it would be the new OMPHobby M1 V3. Crazy awesome and small. It would definitely need to be FPV for me.

Mine is not an actual hobby heli, it is kind of somewhere between hobby grade and toy. I did put the camera on the tail right in front of the tail rotor which gives it a very cool angle to fly it from because you can see the side of the heli in the frame.

Got some really good flights in today with the full fpv setup with ardupilot. I have now discovered that high altitude FPV is my favorite way to fly. I got up to 350ft and cruised there for a while while looking at the area around my house. I can't wait until the fall when the leaves change colors. I got a patch antenna which does wonders for video reception and flew around for a while. The ardupilot osd is working well although the DVR in the goggles is acting strange and not recording sometimes. Overall, it was a huge success!
