Main gear is done. Imade a mix between Tundra and Timber's landing gear system. (Look the next pictures)

This is what i made, 45g. The whole thing is made with bike spokes and umbrella ribs, also the holders are from the umbrella.

The landing gear mount was reinforced with several pieces of covered Depron, and will need lot of hot glue. This is where the landing gear fits

Look how small looks these wheels :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. Of course, these are not the one i will use on it. I will made my own.

This is the setup i am thinking to use. This motor has proved to be a very good and versatile motor. was the same i was using in my Biloute and was pretty ok. But this one is heavier, so i am afraid it be underpowered.

Motor: GFORCE E400 2212-1250KV
ESC: GFORCE 30A
Prop: 9x6
Servos: 4x 9g Micro Servos
Battery: 3s 2200mAh 25C

Yes, it is the same.. :D
The main difference is that depron is rigid, so if you try to bend a 5mm thick piece of depron you will break it. So you have to bend it using techniques like those in the master series, and it's also convenient to apply some heat. Whenever I need to fold it, I use 2mm thick sheets that are easier to fold using the edge of the table as an auxiliary.
One advantage is that you can sand it for an excellent finish, but I guess you can do the same with foamboard. I personally use depron because I can't get foamboard where I live.

Take a look to this https://forum.flitetest.com/index.php?threads/building-with-depron.5900/

Ok, thank you!

One more question, are there ever going to be plans for this airplane? I really want to build one!! I have all he electronics.

Oh, I'm flattered you want to build it. I don't really have plans for it. Most of the pieces come from a three-view drawing I did, but I guess I could try to do the plans. Once I've finished building it and checked that it really flies I'll try to make a plan.

I love this plane too. ;). I'll do my best with the plans, but I can't promise much. I think it' s going to be a very basic set of plans that will require a lot of creativity. :sneaky:. But u will have a good start point, and i could answer all the questions u have. Would be nice to see another Scratch Tundra here. o_Oo_Oo_O.

Awesome!

I've always wanted a durafly tundra, but they are to expensive for me. Scratch building one would be great! I have a bushwhacker now but I added to many extras and made it to heavy, it doesn't fly well at all.

I saw the Durafly Tundra for first time many month ago and i fall in love but here, where i live i can order or buy anything from internet, so i must build it if i want to have it.
This scratchbuild is going to be heavy, not sure how much yet, but heavier than my other planes. I hope to finish it before this saturday...:rolleyes:

The center piece will hold the two servos, one for ailerons and the other for flaps.

More updates!!!!
wings are covered, just need to finish the central section and the wing tips. I am pretty happy with the result, need to be sanded to smoth the joins.
1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 8.jpg

I need to work a bit more in the central part. Must add the screws to fix the wing to the fuselaje. The uper servo in the picture will controll the ailerons, and the other servo will controll flaps.
4.jpg a.jpg b.jpg

The wing is now 131g. And everything is 374g without the electronics, not as heavy as i thougth.
5.jpg 9.jpg 10.jpg

And......... lights out :cool::cool::cool:
7.jpg 6.jpg

All are really nice. i must save my color tape as much as i can because i can;t see replacements in a short time (it was a gift from someone, here i can';t find it neither :rolleyes::rolleyes:). So i have a lot of unused green tape... so i think i will be gren, black and white. :giggle:

I wish I could send you some , do you think it can be done ?
I would be very grateful to receive it. Some members of the Flite Test family to whom I am eternally grateful have sent me some small packages. Some have been successful and others have been rejected by customs and sent back to the origin. But I'm still very grateful to them. (y)(y)(y)(y).
Those good actions really help me to be able to continue doing this thing I love and to be able to share it with you. So yes, we can try ;).
Thanks to you in advance.
