LOL! Yeah. I was making a joke that Lee was talking "crap" in the podcast, but I don't think someone else watched the vid I linked, so it needed clarification.
AND, I always check my CRAP before I fly! LOL!

I really only take exception with folks labeling people entitled and whiners and such when that may not be the case. We cant just pigeon hole people like that. Is that true for some? Absolutely.
I am thankful for them supplying plans, so i buy stuff from them.
I think there are ample plans out there for anything you want to build. I like to scratch build first, then if i want a nicer version Ill buy the SBK. Heck @Matthewdupreez posted a plan for folks to build.
Personally i am shocked of all of the plans available that folks just put out for free. There are quite a few i feel that could start charging a few bucks for their plans.
Well for the snow flake generations I guess pointing out peoples repeated history is a label... For old guys like me who give less then a fart in the wind over PC triggered people its just stating what is reality. If feelings are hurt one of two things need to happen.. If someone feels what I say applies to them then they need to take a look at what I said and see what needs to be adjusted. If they don't think they fit what I said or desire to change or adapt then they REALLY need to learn what us old people did BEFORE we started kindergarten that "sticks and stones may break my bone but names will never hurt me" they REALLY will be much happier if they don't take offence when someone speaks in generality and not directly to them.
And as has happened in the past when I have issue with an individual I address them specifically so there is ZERO confusion who I am interacting with. Even got banned for it in the past.
But seriously back on topic.. the free plans are a GIFT NOT a right. There should be zero misunderstanding that for normal thinking people.
[QUOTE="HERES'S A helpful hint: THIS AINT NO VIDEO GAME where cry baby temper tantrums get you what you want. GAMER mentality does NOT apply to all things in the world. Learn this and you will be much more happy. I know normal thinking people will be MUCHO appreciative.
This annoyed me, I play video games and really enjoy them, I would consider myself a bit of a gamer. What’s GAMER mentality!? I think it’s stupid to say that’s a gamer mentality, that’s a entitled mentality, it has nothing to do with gaming or gamers.

Yeah, stuff like that is what I was talking about. I mention games and my students don't even know what I am talking about. There were some great strategy games back in the day too, I feel like games today rely more on the pay to play principle than skill. This annoyed me, I play video games and really enjoy them, I would consider myself a bit of a gamer. Ehhh.. Maybe we can discuss this after the 4 hour raid I need to be online for in the next 15 mins. FYI I have been a gamer since the very first version of Pong probably before you were even born.
I would agree. To hold a carrot in front of your face only to yank it away if you don't take action immediately is unmotivational to join the group. New members should be allowed access to past months perks.I can see you with holding a perk to a certain level of membership but anyone who upgrades should be able to get access to past perks or plans. it all seems a bit arbitrary. you want to encourage people don,t you?

I have no need of armor, if there is an attack for what I said it is not me they are attacking, it is whatever closed opinion they have being turned on me. I offer help, experience and a solution that is reasonable to discuss, if not implement. If my opinion and offer creates anger and discord then it only proves what I said in the first place, at least in part. I stated, clearly I think, that I have joined the FTCA, paid my dues, and I believe as a member my opinions and any of yours should be heard. Just don't do it in an attack, this must be civil and reasonable. If the leadership does not think my thoughts are worth considering that is their choice, I will not scream and holler about it, I will make my choices in the future based on how this organization handles not just this little thing but how it handles the future little and big things that will matter to everyone in the group.oh boy, i hope you have your armor on
Do whatever you can to get the meta.. the meta changes... do whatever you can to get that. It is a constantly changing nerf/buff cycle that doesn't allow for the development of any strategy, and if you figure out a good one, it is sure to change. That is also used as a bandaid for poor pregame development and testing too.The whole problem with gaming today is first and foremost no one understands the concept of team work and playing their chosen character for its abilities. EVERYONE has to be super man and everyone is so greedy they try to get ALL the loot even if the character they play cant use it. The pay to play thing works so well because no one actually plays a game FOR the game any more they play to acquire things. They just want to be highest level with the least amount of effort. They don't get the concept of leveling as a means to learn how to play what they chose well. Its all cookie cutter someone elses build to get to the end game stuff for the must have uber loots. Then its step on any and every one on the way to get all the stuffs.
Won't even get started on that whole pvp thing...

Yeah, and I wouldn't mind paying a little for content or a leg up or to get something exclusive. But when there is "spend XXX for a chance to get a rare item you just have to have" or "here is a deal for the new hottness" I won't give a dime. I know it will either be nerfed in 3 months or the $10-20 I would spend trying to get the item probably won't work out. So I don't even try.More like lazy dev / producers doin what I call nerf n patch design. They merely reskin everything and over time nerf the previous gear little by little and when the new gear pops in it seems uber and necessary thus making the actual work in development simple for another quick money influx when any new content drops. In between you over compensate one class when the whales complain and stair step the classes acting like you are trying to balance the game until the new skins are done and someone writes new storylines. Once in a while you make a change for the pvp snowflakes to appease them and all the crying they do. Funny how PVP is supposed to show how good a gamer you are but its got the largest ratio of in game crybabies.
Cuts down on production staff big time thus raising the ROI for the parent company. Browser style games with micro transactions are based on gambling addiction studies and those companies actually have staff psychologist's to direct them in subtle changes to feed those addictions. Again same basic structure with 90% of the games just being reskinned base versions of proven platforms.
I love chess! And checkers!!Yeah, and I wouldn't mind paying a little for content or a leg up or to get something exclusive. I started playing this mobile game called infinite galaxy, and the gameplay is cool, and it has neat strategy. Everything is attainable through work. There is some dude that spent over $6k to be the top guy in our nebula (basically our server) and got beat out by someone else and that little snowflake is whining and crying why the game isn't fair. He is basically trying to make it hard for the free to play people like myself (he actually thinks they have no place in the game) because he is so butthurt.
I know of this game that has a $10 buy in, works without power, doesn't need internet, requires a huge amount of skill and strategy, and never really gets boring. Thing is, no one plays chess anymore. I actually have a $300 chess set back home, but that is beside the point.
Thanks @Flyingshark, looks good on paper. I'm definitely not responding for an argument or anything. Just wanted to respectfully say that the logic here doesn't always apply.I don't really see why we should care about these differences of opinion. ("I joined for the plans" and "I joined so I can fly more planes in the future.")
Anyone who joins the FTCA is financially supporting the future of the hobby, which should be a positive thing for the idealistic people among us, while the material-oriented ones can be happy that by joining they get plans for more airplanes to build. It seems like joining the FTCA, assuming you have the money, is a good thing for everybody at both ends of the spectrum.
For me personally, plans are the short-term draw (why I join NOW), and having a hobby in 10 years is the long-term draw (what I would make a donation for).
