Help! Twitching motor

Hello I just recently built my first quad copter. I am using the lumenier alpha flight controller with 4 in 1 esc. The very first time I hooked up the battery one motor started twitching right after. I did not play much attention to it since it flew just fine. Now it can take several seconds up to 30 to have the esc beep than start twitching before that it won't arm. Or a different motor starts twitching shortly after hooking up the battery causing the previously twicthy motor not to work at all.

I tried fixing this in BLheli but when I connect the configuration options don't appear.

Are there any solutions to this besides getting a new all in one and flight controller

Edit: added vids

The original motor thats is twitching only before arming:
the second issue when the second motor twitches and the original doesn't do anything:

Twitchy motors are most often caused by poor solder connections between the ESC and the motor.

This is VERY common particularly after crashes or in bullet connectors soldered in China.

Just re-heat the loose solder joint and re-connect it.

NEVER push a twitchy motor with more throttle. You are stressing it and can burn up the motor and or the ESC.

I also recommend using a smoke stopper after any soldering job. This prevents smoking your electronics if you screw something up.

Maybe you should update ESC firmware. Did you plug a battery in and click "Read setup" When you were in BLheli?

I agree with @cranialrectosis, you should check hardware before software.

  • Can you get some good pictures of your solder joins and wiring?
  • are the motors twitching when your quad is disarmed or only when armed?
  • What happens when you use the test functionality to test the spin up of each motor?

Here are some pictures of all my solder joints for the motors.

No the motor only twitches when it's disarmed

The test functionality works just fine but only if the 4th motor has started twitching otherwise it does nothing

Wake up! Time to fly!
Picture number 4 the left side wire set center wire has loose strands that look like they are down between the wire and could / are potentially touching or arcing to the exposed layers on the side of the FC

Tested the connections with a multimeter when I connect the motors but I will check again.
