U-Can-Do 3D DTFB Build

It's been a long time since I've built, or even flown, an FT plane but I wanted to revive my U-Can-Do 3D design. I built a miniature version about 10 years ago that flew great. This one I have designed around a PowerPod. I'll build it soon but probably won't fly it for a while. Need to dust off my skills with some simulator time if nothing else.

Did you base it off the original? Looks a lot different.

But I suspect yours is going to 3D better, I wasn't impressed with the ones I had :cautious:
Roughly based off of the original. Tweaked it a bit for the construction material and scaled-down size. I think the biggest change is that I put endplates on the wings instead of the swept rounded tips of the original. Wings are a bit "wider" and the rudder and elevator control surfaces have a bit more area.

Other neat feature, that I've never actually done before, is I made the cowl so that it can be printed on my SLA 3D printer. Should be around 10g, so not too heavy. Going to hold it on with magnets I think.

I like it. Looks like the tail moment is a bit shorter which is an improvement as well.

The original (I had two of the 46 size) was very "floppy" doing things like rolling harriers partly due to the wing design. It hovered okay and the big chord/long tail gave it reasonable precision in loops as well.

My prediction is that yours will 3D better, plus spin/blender/pop top really well too 😃
