That looks interesting.
I am well on with my second A-10. I have 3D printed two EDF, units which have Emax motors fitted and 3 bladed props No static thrust testing done yet.

Will post results later when done.

Nice! Unfortunately, I don't have a printer. Regarding the motors/propellers, I learned that the best result is with 2 blades. I also tried with 3, 4 and 6 blades, but I have had horrible resonance at around 75-80% without increasing the thrust over this percentage. Maybe the propellers wasn't perfectly balanced, I don't know. I will make some more tests, the winter is coming, right? :) If I remember correctly, now I have something around 1800 gr per nacelle. Here is the end of my first A-10. Actually, it was kind on Phoenix, it was reborn from its own ash. I only had to re glue the wing and build a new the fuselage

Just completed a Watt/amp test on my set up using a 6 cell set up. The total watts output is around 1250 watts.
With a rule of thumb of 100, 120 watts per pound weight, I should be well in the specs. My AUW is around 5.5 pounds.

Link to my second Warthog with 3D printed electric ducted prop housing and retracts.

That is quite impressive. Will you post any other information about the build? Where did you get the retracts? What kind of ESCs you used, etc. etc.
(I just ordered my first kit but you A10 is what I would want to strive for.)

Where did you set the CG?
Hi
I set the CG as per the free download plans.
I am away at the moment for a few days but will have a look when I get back.
Seem to remember its around 2.5 inches from the leading edge.
My original first A-10 flies perfect with the recommended CG with the prop version. This second ducted prop version, I needed to put a lot of up elevator in for it to fly level. May need to alter the thrust angel of the pods but not had chance yet to have more flights. Not tested her on a glide yet so will see and post results.
The weather hear in the UK is awful at present.

Hi all
Info on my scratch build.
Took 9 sheets of FT foam board.
CG 2.5 inches from leading edge.
Present airframe weight, without 2 wing retracts or battery, 1970g
Power train:- 2 Sunnysky R2207, 1800Kv motors. (6s)
2 Gemfan 4.0x5.2, 3 bladed props.
2 Turnigy Plush 32, 40amp ESC.
6s Battery. 2, 2200mah 3s batteries in series giving 6s. Combined weight 360g
or 2, 3300mah 3s batteries in series giving 6s. Combined weight 566g
Freewing Electronic Retract for 5.1mm Diameter Shafts - Type C

I have done a couple more mods.
Firstly, I have removed the 2 retracts from the wing as the plastic mountings have broken and replaced them with fixed wheels to try out. I think that the cold weather combined with a waterlogged grass runway they have broken. I have also made the front nose leg retract shorter. (see pics)

Secondly, I am experimenting with different batteries for weight and flight times. Hence the 2 sizes of battery.

Also once painted I hope to fit strobe lights, 3D printed cockpit and missiles as my first A 10

Hope this info is of some help.

I am willing to submit the STL files of the ducted prop units if wanted.

Absolutely interested... Just got my 3d printer few weeks ago. Been looking for things to improve my A10 but thingiverse is interestingly lacking so far. I'd love to try my FT radials in a ducted fan version...

Link to 3D STL files for my EDF Prop fan housing.
Front and rear sections so easy to print without supports then glue together. Print 100% infill.

Nice, thanks @Drone 5 unfortunately i've already found that one printer isn't enough! lol... guess i'll add this to the backlog. Wish we had a better way to post files like this here. There's not really much organizational structure to the files area that i saw...
