*Unofficial* FT Simple Stick

If you haven't built one of these already (and why else would you be here) I can't tell you enough how much fun this plane is. Plenty of power with a 2835 (C pack) motor, 2200 3S and a 1060 porp. It probably doesn't matter which version you build. Mine's the JB simple stik and its a blast to fly and learn all your basic maneuvers.

I think flite test needs to not advertise the free plans for the new planes that haven't released yet before someone sues for false advertising... it's been almost a year we've been waiting for these plans... it's kind of discouraging for the fans... for me, being an experienced builder, I will just design my own and probly not come back here anymore.

I can understand your frustration, unfortunately all good things have to come to an end specially when there free. The move to the new site and wages probably means the accountants have said "no more free plan give always" your giving away your profits". Plus on the down side there are low life's out there who will steal their free designs and pass them off as there own. That's not an issue if they are just advertised on you tube as I built this its my design, we all know different.
However, when companies start selling kits and advertising them as there own and they are obviously FT designs , that's naughty.
So I can sort of see why they are doing this, but sadly the old fan base me included feel a bit cheated. May be they should have some kind of page on the forum where they can charge an annual subscription for member access and allow free plan down loads.
Either way there are plenty of free plans advertised on here and loads of support from forum members so don't knock the forum or its members just because FT are not necessarily giving them away in the future.
As for the Flite Test channel do what I do with my TV, if your not happy with the content turn over to another channel or switch it off its your choice !

I would be willing to pay for a set of plans...... (any plans)
I would be willing to pay for a plan of a balsa model I want. I might even consider buying a full kit including plan and balsa. I may even be tempted to buy the odd EPP or EPO, ARTF models.
As for Flite Test plans I have all the originals downloaded and saved on my hard drive. To be honest, there is nothing they could produce now that I would consider paying for.
I would rather choose a plane designed by a forum member and offer them a donation.

Guess I'll post this in the official thread then.

Started building mine, got the parts cutout, then while looking at a test fit thought to myself "This would be really easy to flip over into a lowing plane"

So... is it still a "Simple stick" at this point? I wonder what I can push this thing through it's paces with a 10x7 prop... Got a couple laying around, only seems right to take a plane meant to be a slower stable trainer like plane and do the exact opposite with the plans.
