I finally watched one of your videos- great production efforts! Sucks about the takeoff- you can always tell folks you were attempting to save the lives of the pack of dogs that came running down this hill at you.

Somehow my rudder got reversed. I know it wasn't reversed before because I was doing Immelmans & hanging on my prop like a pro.......For a few seconds.....LOL!!

THAT Pfalz is done. But, I can build another one & this time reinforce the rudder area. The good news is that I learned alot from that aircraft. Fishing line WORKS, and works GREAT. (You just have to make sure your knots are tight & glued shut).

EDIT: Elevator, not Rudder was reversed.

This hobby seems turn us all into amateur NTSB Aviation Accident Investigators, so congratulations on diagnosing the issue! Most of the time I don't have a clue why my planes crash, other than pilot error.

My biggest enemy, it turns out, is moisture in the air. When Flite Test builds a plane, they throw it up in the air once or twice & then it gets retired to a nice warm building. Contrast that to my Pfalz, which was subjected to the harshest (for foam aircraft) conditions DAILY. Of course, breaking the wing spars on the right wing pretty much ended its career.

2 more pictures & it's goodnight. Probably will get up at 2AM or something & cut out some formers, cheeks, & cockpit headers.

Ok, the Albatros D2, D3, D5 & D5a were built in mass quantities, as was the Pfalz D3 & D3a. Both of these have round fuselages. So I start with just a straight rectangle of foam as a "backbone" & then put formers on it?

werll, close ;).. the straight rectangle i usually made bigger in front to cockpit for space of battery,eg, then goes to just a vertical profile shaped spar further rearwards... or cross - spar , or even in some a CF tube. Something that will stabilize the rear, also in powers by landing

here is how the start of internals looked on my Nemeth, back to rear of pilot cockpit, where just a vertical spar rearwards was used.
and below the whole internal for the Diamond, with CF tube rearwards.

Tuesday: 65F but strong wind, Wednesday: 70F & even STRONGER wind, so no need to rush the aircraft.

But, I am making great progress. I had to use popsicle sticks/tongue depressors because I didn't trust the flimsy bbq skewers. That's all I need is to rip off the top wing on live camera.

I did manage to get some painting in, and if I get time, I may cut out & paint ANOTHER Fokker D7 livery!

Redid the wing struts & added some of the cabane struts. Also centered the top wing.
