Hi,

I am looking for a old battery that still works for my tinytrainer. My budget is really low so I can't spend to $15 on a new one.

PM me if you have anything.

Thank you.

That’s a large pack for a TT. I use a max of 850mah packs on mine, if I have a 2400kv then it’s usually a 2s. The smaller packs are much less than $15 each.
Also lipo requires specialist postage and most regular post offices won’t accept it. This makes posting second hand lipo expensive.
I run these and these in my TT. The 850’s give an average of 7-8 mins flying time on a 2206/2400kv, the 500’s do 5 mins. Both are less than $8 each.

Ok, I didn't know any of that. Thanks for the info!

The one I was looking at was THIS. Thats why I said $15

Are the batteries that you gave me links to good quality? Will they last me a while before breaking?

I personally use this battery

On a 1806 motor with a 6030 prop on the Tiny Trainer I was getting about 10-14 minutes a battery depending on how much gliding I did. $8 a piece and free shipping from the states. $15 for 2. They work pretty good. I've had em for about 3 years now with maybe 50+ flights and they still work fine. They work good on any of the minis as well. Not much heavier than the 500mah but WAY more flight time.
A warning tho, they are cheaper batteries. As with most electronics, you get what you pay for. One battery shipped to me wouldn't charge on my charger using lipo settings, the voltage was too low. I had to charge it on a NiMH setting for 20 seconds to bump up the voltage enough to then charge with the lipo setting. Basically the manufacturer didn't properly give the battery a storage charge. The battery works fine now, but just something to keep an eye out for when purchasing cheaper batteries.
And I agree with the above, I wouldn't use anything over 850mah on the Tiny Trainer or any mini.

I have personally used both those packs linked for over two years in different applications. There is zero benefit from the Tattu packs vs the lower discharge, cheaper Turnigy ones at this level. Most FT designs are drawing very low loads compared to quads and so long as you buy 30c or above packs then they will run and last well.
Some people don’t like Hobbyking but I can only speak from 4 years of being a customer and having tens of packs off them plus potentially hundreds recommended to others without a single one being bad from the factory.
With a 2400 kv motor you really don’t need 3s and even with the FT one it’s much better flying it on 2s to begin with. When you want to go faster put in the sub $5 Hobbyking motor like this and it will still run great on 2s. I only use that motor in my minis now, with either a 6x4 or 6x3 prop. It’s so cheap and I have several that have had very hard hits with no damage.

Yeah, thats probably the way to go. As long as I have good flight time and they last me a few years.

See my post above, I only recommend stuff I have owned and battered myself. Also I never buy lipo off EBay, there’s some total garbage packs on there, plus it’s more expensive than Hobbyking. Floureon are an ok make but beware cheap fakes. 3s can be more efficient than 2s but you get a weight trade off in exchange.

Your right, hobbyking is one of if not the cheapest place to get lipos, until you add shipping costs. If you live in the states, and the US warehouse doesn't have it, forget buying from their international warehouse. I was gonna buy a cheap epp 3d trainer kit plane, $50, till I saw shipping. They wanted $65 to ship! Making shipping cost more than the actual kit!! I like Hobbyking, but unless it's coming from a US warehouse, shipping is not doable. And even from the US warehouse, I find that smaller orders like a couple batteries with shipping makes them more expensive than buying from eBay or amazon, or even Flitetest or getfpv and smaller online shops.
And eBay isn't a bad place to buy batteries. You gota review who your buying from. If their rating is 98-99% positive, then your probably good to go. The specific seller I linked too has a 99.5% positive score with over 5500 scores. Always look for rating and return policies before you purchase on eBay, and Amazon for that matter.
In this case, I bet it's safe to say it is not a cheaper knock off.

Yeah stock is their big problem. Lots of common stuff seems to go out of stock often, their website also has acres of discontinued lines on it and the worst search engine ever. I only use Google to search that site! Price is good and quality is pretty good, from my experience. I get why some people hate on them.
The “International” warehouse is in Hong Kong!
I agree that the seller is the key on EBay. I have a guy for rigid cells but the price for lipo is not as keen as some other retailers here. Unmanned UAV tech are excellent for quad stuff and batteries.

Some of how they will last is up to you, taking care of your batteries by not over drawing them down. Set up a timer if your transmitter does not have one, personally I never fly more then 5-6 minutes on my packs even thou they could go longer.

One other question,

How many amps would a 1806 motor and 6030 prop be pulling at full throttle? would a 800mah 25c battery work for it?

Thanks

Yes, that is the exact battery I use for that motor. I've used it on my Tiny Trainer, Mini Arrow, AND my SE5. I use it with a 12amp esc. It pulls like 10amps at Max throttle. Feel free to pair it with a 20amp esc tho, cause if you step up to a 6x45 prop or a 5x4x3 prop it'll draw closer to 11-12 amps maxing out a 12amp esc. But if you plan on using a 6x3 it'll work good. And yes, that 800mah 3s 25c battery will work good. 10+ minute flight times on it too.

Great! I'm ordering the ones you gave me a link to right now!

Thanks for posting!
