My thought is to use props out the front of the "cone" rather than edf... I also have nano servos for elevons...
I am going for the other EZ V2 where I am using only the differential thrust and throttle to see if it flies. The prop version with elevons should go. Edf version's is were the problems lie.

In the book, they talk about flying the A-12.

To be fair, while the original thing is a technical marvel, I don’t believe a foam model will be much fun.

The original was designed to cruise at high speed for long periods of time, that’s something that cannot be easily replicated for a model.

More serious, with that design, maneuverability will probably be an issue. And even if it flies, it will not have much presence in the air.
It’s not supposed to fly scale!😂

Idunno, there were typically 2 sets of cutting edge places like the skunk works, one public, one you didn't know. For example there was a sub basement at building 12 hughes clever city, they built the wobbling goblin alongside the stuff at Palmdale, TRW had employees everywhere and teams trying to mislead all over. Macdac even had odd stuff at the long beach airport next to their production facilities for the DC9. Even had places in high bay bldg 350 HAC that I wasn't allowed to be in even with my clearances and a need to be there. You patiently waited outside until what you were after came out to you.

I've wonder what is in the we don't know pile that might be out there creating plasma trails and ionizing the skies. I think it was 10yrs before Have Blue was made public.

If you have a good bit of spare cash and if you are not worried about building your own, Motion RC/Freewing just released a very well done twin 70mm SR-71 complete with a functional drogue chute and gyro, plus all expected features. 6s lipo. Model is $729.00.

Yes, I've looked at that one, but there are quiet a few things I don't like about it.
