Well what's a guy to do? I fly cheap DTFB electric planes! My friend at work comes up and says "Hey I know you like top wing planes and like to slow fly, why don't you buy my trainer?" Normal banter ensues, OK how much? "$150.00 for the works" Well let me talk to the funds manager (wife) She said ok!

I am really going off the reservation with this! I now own a Hanger 9 Alpha 40 with complete flight box and radio! NITRO!

The plane has been stored for 2 years so it needed batteries and the engine was a little gummed up and the fuel tank was in need of cleaning. I added a volt meter to keep an eye on the RX battery.

So I got all that done and got some fuel and did a test fire!

Now need nice weather to do the maiden!

Thanks guys! I really was not looking to go nitro but I had to save this plane honestly, a young guy with no experience wanted to buy it and he "can fly anything" which is why I bought the remains of a EDF f-86 saber from him the day before for 10$ I did not want to see this plane destroyed in 10 seconds like the other one.

The Alpha is supposed to be nice flying plane. I don't have any experience with the Evolution engines, so no real input there, but it really should be a good floater, but will probably also get down and move when you want it to! It's got quite a bit of dihedral, so rolls will be a bit slow, but for a fun fly plane and just goofing around, it looks fun. That's the kind of plane I like to do touch and goes with and just fly lazy circles. I have a Sr. Telemaster and it's my lazy slow fly plane and awesome for long slow one wheel touch and goes, but then with a .91 four stroke on the nose and giant flaps, it's also my STOL plane.

Crash Test Pilot!
I had one of these years back and they can be quite sporty if you want it to be , the evolution engines are easy to tune and it shouldnt give you any issues , i couldnt tell if it was the TPS engine , if it is it will have a weighted flywheel on the prop driver , if it does , order one without and put and 11x6 or 11x7 prop on there and it will run nicely , great buy!!!!!
