What about a corsair?

I must admit, I am a fan of this plane...

So I would love a review on a large one, maybe with retract like the FMS F4u Corsair

That is an excellent idea. There are WWII fighters out there that are automatic eye grabbers. People have a respect for them. How many of us were enthralled by the F4F Wildcat? Too many to count. The F-4U Corsair, the P-51 Mustang, and the P-38 Lightning, all command attention. I believe it is time for a warbird review and any of those would be an excellent choice.

They certainly could do a P-38, since it's available through HobbyKing.

Don't forget the Spitfire they did. I also requested they did more WWI aircraft. They did the Fokker Triplane, they could review the Spad that HK offers.

Are you talking the Parkzone Corsair? If so that is a plane I'm in love with. I've had it for a while and it's still my go to plane for fun. It's incredibly stable at low speeds, it can go pretty fast and is way more agile than you'd ever expect. Because of the gull wings I can basically make it stand still in the wind doing an inverted harrier. It's also robust as you can see in this video. This was taken a while ago and I still fly this plane. It's awesome.

Although, in this case, I think they were talking about something more along the lines of what you'd find on the NitroPlanes website. THAT looks like an impressive plane. I saw some of the 1400 mm birds at the event I was at last week. Two of the T-28s and a Zero. Both left me drooling.

That is good to know. I am always looking for planes that can handle the wind since my location has 15 to 20 mile per hour winds much of the time.

The only thing about the PZ Corsair I didn't like, was the tail wag. At any sort of speed, you'll see it waggle the tail. This was not uncommon, even in the full sized ones, or so I recall reading somewhere. Something to do with the size of the vertical stabilizer, and the prop wash over it.

My favorite for wind is the CrashTestHobby Grim Reaper.
It's big (55" span) and has an airfoil designed to penetrate wind well.
We have flown these in sustained 30 mph winds with big gusts on top of it.
Having a wing or two around has allowed me to fly on a lot of days that I would have just turned around and gone home

It would be awesome if Parkzone/Hobbyzone offered a 1400mm warbird class of planes that could compete with the FMS models.
A 1400mm Parkzone Corsair with optional electric retracts would be something I would be willing to save up for and would be at the top of my list- Unless they have the bravery and foresight to release a Skyraider

That sounds like a really good candidate for a fpv gopro ship. Could you send me a link for the Grim Reaper? I want to check it out!

I've been in love with my Corsair for over 10 years now. This Sportsman Avaition model has been beat up in sortie after sortie.

I'm one of those guys that HAS to have a Corsair in the lineup. I've got a serious problem if I dont!
