What did you crash today

It would be interesting to try this test since you were always circling right if the problem would still be there going to the left. Just one of those curious things.
Interesting, Yeah first I have to put the pieces back together! I might try it in a plane I care about less, a little science experiment 😁. Thanks for the input!

Well crashed my mini arrow speed build due to servos stalling out. It’s been clocked at 167MPH via GPS and this new prop I was testing was gonna put it at about 180mph. It sucks but I learned I need to upgrade servos big time. More info on crash is in my mini arrow speed build thread.

might need a little more than hot glue to fix that...

Seriously @IdoAllMyOwnStunts, your motor photos there make a case for a pusher...

I do love how the dogs immediately show you where the carcass is. At least you don't have to hunt in a field for bits. The pups seem more than willing to bring them home. :)
Ohh yeah, the pups love the planes! They will chase them all day.
I used to have it in pusher configuration but it just wasn’t fast enough and was stupid loud, but pushers do survive that type of crash.

For all of you who were interested in my previously posted Explorer crash video...

Finally repaired my explorer tonight, looking pretty flawless considering the amount of previous damage!

Thanks to everyone who helped me consider potential flaws, I went ahead and replaced my RX and refined my mounting positions. Thanks!
She lives! Looks good

I love it when I just go back into my plane boneyard and pick something out to fly. Especially when it hasn't seen the skies for years!
This one has been sitting for almost a year. It flew like a peach, but the wing design sucks. I just need to build a new motor pod and we'll be back in business. Oh wait, it also needs all its electronics and pushrod lol. I'll have to steal some from another plane

I agree, the wing design is garbage. You'd think they would choose a box spar or at lease and up and down "fold over" spar, but they decided to go for a horizontal fold over, that leaves gaps for the servos. This not only creates lots of flex, but also gives the wing wrinkles by the servos and I wouldn't be surprised if it just buckled one of these days, especially on this high wing loading airframe. I might look into modifying mine in the future. It needs it badly.

I used a ruler to reinforce my wing, and it still snapped some how..

I had to climb approx 45ft up a pine tree to get a versa wing planted in a fork the near the top, new flyer flew into the sun lost LOS and well you know ...... it was late in the day so I left it there, I had considered busting the wings tips off with my 12ga shot gun to get it down and suffer the damages and consider what I didnt ruin a win :cautious: but I had a moment decided to just go get it, had it been any other tree I would likely have shot it down, but pines have branches like a ladder all the way up....hot glued on the winglet that was laying on the ground and its flying again no damage other than a dimple the size of a pea and the winglet that came off

maybe we will wait till the local airfield is open again before the new flyers give it another go, instead of flying at home with many so obstacles:rolleyes:
