A high aspect ratio wing with a "proper" airfoil?
Perhaps you need to use a different (and thinner?) foam board.
Not a U2 but still 2.2m span.

All made from 3mm Depron sheet and no carbon! The spar is a balsa/Depron/balsa composite.

I mean, I still haven't learned learned to make good airfoils. So my next build will [robably a flat wing delta, like an F-20 or IAI Kfir

Almost any wing section is better than a flat plate.
If your board is both thick enough and with a degree of flexibility a perfectly good wing section can be made like this.

Simples! Basically just 4 parts. Top and bottom skins and two webs to create the wing section..
The main problem is arranging clamps to hold it together whilst the glue sets.
This is the wing as used in a lightweight scale EDF.

Almost any wing section is better than a flat plate.
If your board is both thick enough and with a degree of flexibility a perfectly good wing section can be made like this.
