What Did You Fly Today

My daughter came to the park to shoot video for me today. Made it about a minute and then she got frustrated and stopped. It was fun regaurdless.

I love the fact she came with me. Taking her to the river to swim this afternoon to make up for getting her up early on a weekend.

Flew my CL-415!

Drives around real nice in the grass.
I found out that due to the high motor placement, it wants to pitch down when I throttle up so I'll have to add some up thrust angle. The elevator also flutters like @Piotrsko suspected so that needs some bracing. What I didn't find out until it was too late was that the elevator control horn wasn't glued in, D'OH!

The left nacelle took a direct hit from a metal garbage can XD left a bullet hole from the prop nut and sounded like a church bell. Definetly the coolest crash I've had so far. Prop broken, nacelle torn appart (athough I only had to re-cut one part) and minor creases in the wing and nose. The nose also took some prop strikes and now has battle scars.

The maiden flight was when I realized the horn was off but I managed to land. Then I got cocky and flew again and that's when I lost total control of the plane. I take full responsibility, could have been completely preventable. but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't you hate it when you have a mental brown out! I forgot to put the servo horn screw in and it came off mid flight - not pretty.

Ouch! This was more than a brown out cuz I SAW that the horn was loose after the first flight and FLEW ANYWAYS! That's like a mental meltdown

The reason it flutters is the prop wash.
My worst case was a transport that had a shuttle that was in the prop wash. Finally realized that when props were turning inboard to the fuse, it ejected the shuttle straight up due to same type of propwash.

You're right, you win the 'bonehead' award. Glad I've never done anything like that. (Like launching a glider into ridge lift without turning on my tx.)

You can use BBQ skewers as struts running from the fuse to the H-stab. That might fix your problem.

just testing if sharpie markers will work instead of paint. I think a paint marker would look better and be easier than using a tiny paint brush.

FT MS A-10. Third pack in, a Zippy 4s, 2700 mAh, the pack had a cell explode and smoke was pouring out. I managed to get it back on the ground, put out the fire…

It looked so cool with smoke streaming- I wish I had video going.

This crappy Zippy LIPO had only about 10 cycles, all between 4.2v and never below 3.7v per cell.
