This is the EZ model that I am going to use for carrier work.

Today was warm gusty winds so could not practice carrier landings. But ended up 2 runs where just set throttle 1/2 + and flew into winds doing a large figure eight. Screwed around and decided to play only with the differential thrust(high rate) making the turn into the wind and backing off to come back downwind and then add DT for the opposite turn. Got to be a lot of fun. Getting to the point that this model may be used in a gym.

Next, pulled out the Warthog A-10 with the gusty winds generally Right to Left where it increased the swirls throughout the field due to trees. Field is 300ft+ sq. and houses all around. Line up to get the camera man and gave him a short blast to complete my mission.
@Houndpup Rc, suggest you do maiden in open field and no gusty winds.

Had a lot of fun flying the Extra 300 today! Getting pretty good and flying inverted and Knife edges..Also a little hovering! Then my brother brought out his airsoft gun and I did some low and slow passes (Basically flying high alpha sometimes) and he did hid best to hit it! :ROFLMAO: My new favorite thing to do when flying the extra is to lineup and flying over the rim of the trees, and down underneath the power lines...Right into airsoft gun fire!😂 (My goal is to be able to do it inverted!)

That"s the next step up in flying. It is a way of flying where in all three axis you keep track of what you need to do to put your airplane where you want. It is done by pulsing(minutely) the stick one way to see what is does, if correct, add more pulses to make it do what you want. If the pulse is wrong, correct it by moving opposite direction and add additional pulses so you put the plane where you want. It's like a human gyro. That's again with low expo to reduce the time element.

Sure, with altitude, you can get away with no problems with high expo. It's down below where the ground is, you pulse wrong and add more, you pay the consequence. Simply put, you need to practice to learn it. Hardest I've done is to go inverted with a heli, drop down and come nose in, mow the grass(6 inches above) and retreat. Never a failure. All done by pulse method.

Yeah...That how the Extra 300 had a couple dents yesterday! 😂 😂 (I was doing some hover about 6-8ft up...)

I took my FT Simple Scout for a Dawn Patrol this morning. The sun was a bit of a issue, but I managed.

Learned a couple of lessons. The club field is not morning friendly. As the sun popped up over the bluffs, it is right in your eyes while flying a normal pattern.

Second, always check your battery alarm setting. I was doing a lot of touch and goes then realized, "I've been flying a while, I wonder if something is wrong with the battery alarm.". As I came around to land it went off.

After letting the battery rest, I checked the cells and they were down to 3.3 per cell! I don't know when the setting changed, but it did. I just finished storage charging it and it seems okay. I'll check the voltages this evening, to see were they are at.

I double checked the setting before the 2nd flight and had a much shorter flight 😂 but the cells settled at 3.8 each post flight.

I've got to say, flying in the sim is fun. But being able to take something you built out of dollar foam and fly it in real life is on another level!

I think I'm hooked!

Yup, investing in some sunglasses is a really good idea! (y)
