What Did You Fly Today

Guys, there is going to be a combat event in my local RC club, and I just wondered how good of an Idea it is do use an underpowered and undersized FT Viggen (flies fine but a bit difficult to fly). it is pretty much a sacrificial goat that I built for fun and I don't really have the resources to build something anytime soon. How doable it is to do (streamer) combat with an FT Viggen?

You won’t cut a single streamer….. No swinging prop to cut it, but, it would still be fun!

Flew my Might Mini T-28 5 times today! (I flew v.2 because I smashed V.1 on maiden because the thrust angle was wrong 😭 Though I was able to reuse the wing)

Had a fun day at the field. Took 5 flights with the carrier plane and EZ PACK. Now I am set to say that:

1) Next project is to release the Magic Jr from a moving transport(FoamyDR) and try to land on a moving carrier.
2) With practice today, I now can say firmly that I now can fly this model inside in a gym. To demo, my next video will show me flying inside the parking lot that I did it.

The next thing I did was bring Magic with a 64 mm EDF(5 blades) with a 1300 mah battery to the field. First run was to trim. I then launched and set a new record of slow flying and it was 11 minutes and 7 sec. Former was over 10 minutes and a couple of seconds.
So when your don't have any vertical stabs and a "stabilizer", this tool really exceeds the limit of 3 to 4 min that by the reduction of drag that you usually have with a plane.
I didn't video since I have one covering the 10 plus, just wanted to enjoy the day.

Now there is a plane uses an EDF and gets the flight time of a prop job.

Today, end up with gusty winds trying to improve pilot handling skills using my designed EZ design. Come to the conclusion that this is one Kick A** plane. Still need to prove it can fly in a gym. Need calm conditions.

Notice the flying wing can: (turn up speaker to hear gusty conditions)
establish a stable flying environment, flys in gusty winds slow as well as getting around where it wants to, can handle small areas, can control the throttle and differential to even wind surf as well as to handle cross winds landings.
Used 195 mah's to have about a 6 min flight. Going to try higher winds(fly higher off the deck) and see what happens. That's why it's name is Magic.

Working on carrier now to launch and land on it next.

i like it!it looks like a handful though, is it just the wind?
It is really the gusty wind. If you notice, it takes a lot of nose up and very slow speed for it to stall out. The key to flying in wind it is that you never let the throttle back to off or idle, you need to keep some power on at all times.

What takes practice is the right manipulation of throttle and differential thrust movements to get smooth straight flight or turns to put it where you want it. For instance, with a crosswind, you blip the differential into the side wind, back off throttle a small amount and add back to original at the same time, and if you get it right, you go straight. Wind is just a factor you adjust for. Then it is not a handful.

Maiden of my P51 today. I built her a while ago. She flew quite nicely. Apparently the ESC was undersized and after a few minutes stopped working (smelt burned afterwards and was very hot). I managed to bring her around and ditched her in the high grass next to our flying field. No damage. Will need to get a new Esc
