@L Edge and @telnar1236 thanks for the suggestions. I’ll try adding some elevon reflex for the next flight. I think you might be right on the tip stalling, are you suggesting adding some permanent deflection to the wingtips? I would say I have about half and half when it comes to vertical stabilization above and below the wing. Maybe I’ll try a redesign of the horizontal stabilizers too.

Exactly - when you look at the wings of full-scale deltas, a lot of the time, the wingtip points down relative to the wing root which reduced the tendency for tip stalls and actually improves aerodynamic efficiency in a lot of cases - somewhere in the 3-8 degree region tends to be about right and it's very effective for RC planes too.

For vertical stabilizers, roll stability comes from the tendency to roll into a sideslip angle, so vertical area above the CG makes the plane more stable while vertical area below the CG makes it less stable in roll. Both are equally good for yaw stability.

Very interesting, thanks for the info. I will do some experimenting!

Dual maiden voyages early today. First was my Mini Scout, my first foray into FT territory. I used a bunch of retro gear I've had on my shelves or bin boxes: a Feigao 12x22mm inrunner that I've had for around 20 years but never used, running in a GWS LPS-A gearbox with an Aeronaut 6.3x3 SF prop, a pair of unbranded 5g servos, an FMA Tetra AM RX, and a Hitec Focus 3 SS TX. Only concession to modern was a 2S high rate 300mAh lipo. Plenty of power at a flying weight of 148g, this plane is definitely a relaxed, calm weather flyer.

Next up was my Cox Cessna 182 converted to electric power. This 40 year old model was given to me by a couple of friends a few weeks ago, completely to my surprise. Never assembled or flown, they carried it through move after move for decades before deciding I should have it. I removed the engine and installed an E-flite Park 370, turning a Gemfan 7x3.5 SF prop on a 3S 800 lipo. Smooth and stable flight, but much faster than I expected. Even throttled back it made my usual flying site seem a lot smaller. I think I must have been holding my breath while I flew it, because I kind of let out a big sigh when it rolled out in front of me.

I also made a mini-scout that flies very fast and i enjoyed it. It's just sensitive to the wind.

New (to me) bird! 49” OMP Bighorn, hopefully making @LitterBug proud haha. I have to say I am very impressed by the performance on a 2200 3s, it flies on rails and can hover quite well, although there’s not much left over power for punching out. I would love to try 4s in it, maybe if I prop it down and put a bigger esc in…

We have a large variety of planes that I Haven't flown yet. My "landing" history with balsa is an 0-fer. I have a 49" Challenger that I need to transfer all the parts from the PNP version I crashed on an inadvertent maiden a few years ago.
