What is the future of the FTCA

Hi Everyone,

Curious minds need to know. What is the future of the FTCA. I am hoping that Dave M will have some input. I believe that I am not the only one that is curious about this question. I hope more people will chime in about their concerns. The monthly FTCA news letter has not had any info to share. Is the FTCA going to fold up ? What do you guys think ? What are your concerns ? Please post your thoughts. We need to let Dave M know that the FTCA members have some concerns.

I spoke with @DaveM at FF24, he said the FTCA & FT are doing well, just going through some growing pains. Dave mentioned a new STEM program that he & others are working on.

Let's keep in mind FF is a big deal, it takes a LOT of time to prepare for the big event. I know I'm just beginning to recover. I can't imagine what others go through & they do far far more than I do.

I know that the Bixler family work their tails off at FF. Pre and post FF.

The FT App as well as the Edgewater web site have been down since pre FliteFest. Made it impossible to scan any of the special FF QR codes, and I can't get my special first 50 kits reward from my FT Viggen kit. I don't really care about all that, but I am sure there are some in the community that do. I try to keep up with these things to help others with support as best I can, but both were dissapointments with a few folks, especially younger community members at FliteFest.

The Edgewater website gets hung up on a captcha page, And the FliteTest app just always crashes out and is completely unusable. (at least on multiple android devices)

I'm sure @DaveM has a ton on his plate with both the FTCA and FPVFC (I am a member of both) but he has dropped in here to comment when he has time.

John has moved on to other projects and FT is working to license and kit the current MS line, but have not worked out plans for new designs going forward.

As mentioned above, I had serious issues with the FT app crashing and opened up a support ticket with the developer. They have been working on an updated version of the app and I have joined their beta testing program. Working on testing all the current features. I passed along the idea of exporting the EZID log files and am requesting it be added via a feature request. They agree it will be a great addition.

If you have any other ideas for, or problems with the FT app, pass them along and I will forward the info along.

Thanks for the update.
When I spoke to Dave at FF24, he was clear this was a temporary position for him. That he is in the stage of life where he wants to slow down & was not looking for another career.

It would be cool if flitetest would come out and say what’s going on, there are a few things that are up in the air and hasn’t been any comment on. Maybe certain things might have to be confidential until it’s in stone? ( future of master series)
Has it gotten to a point with the FTCA that we cancel memberships until they inform the members what’s going on? Would that get their attention? Too harsh?

They have said in a post on the forum that John has moved on, and they are working on a deal with him to be able to release the MS plans via FTCA.
I'm not aware of anything that's "up in the air". (good pun btw!)
They did just add a new 200% DR1 XL kit to the store.
SPONZ has been working on at least 4 sets of plans to be available on the FTCA Portal.

But in general, there has been a significant reduction in communication. There are the (mostly) weekly videos, and maybe more on Facebook/tiktok that I wouldn’t know about, but we don’t really hear anything about what’s going on anymore.
