What paint or how to prep?

So I'm painting my b17 tubby. Started with just the canopy and noticed that the paint scratches off very easily. Should I be prepping for paint a special way?

FWIW, I’ve used relatively fine grit sandpaper to lightly scuff FT water resistant foam with great success. All you’re looking for is something that can rough up the water resistant coating a bit so the paint can adhere better.

Two questions for you. First... did you find a good solution? I'm about to paint mine. Second, How did you like the deep forest green on it? I was going to buy the "army green" of the same paint until I saw your post. Now I'm not sure.

Hey sorry haven't been on in awhile. Just finished it up and flew it for the first time today! It flew pretty good! I ended up sanding it with 600 grit and I really like the deep forest green. I ALMOST used that army green but like the darker color better. I'm also going to spray some matte clear on it to Hopefully help protect the paint.

I'm not a paint expert, but I have had some luck using a clear coat spray over the paint to protect it from scuffs.
What type of clear coat have you used? I'm painting today and I'm already finding that it scratches very easily.
