So before you paint the airplane. What are some of the things you do before paint . I have taped corners or spots that could see damage. I used this modge podge "hard coat " I see paper coming up . It could be that it was on my porch and started to rain. It didn't get real wet . I my do a test piece and see after a few coats and sanded it would act right.

I tend to sand the tape with 600g+ sand paper and then do a couple coats of Minwax to prevent the paper from peeling.
