Now if someone would show up to that event with a FT Tri, or Quad, with a real FPV system on it, and really show them something impressive, and for not much more money.
They're saying they spent $300 on that system. I had just over $100 dollars in the components for my new quadcopter, another $60 for the FT RB frame, so there's $160. They're talking about a single 7 minute flight. A 2200 nanotech 35C battery will do that, so another $20, $180. They didn't include the price of the Tx in the story (the iPad costs more than $300 itself) and you can buy a good radio for under $200. An entry FPV system could be between $200-$300 depending on how crazy you go (it could be done around $100, but I don't know if you'd get better video quality than shown in the news report). And for an extra $200 you could put a new GoPro White on that thing and get high def video.
