Mine waited until I left to go buy the scroll saw this morning, made sausage and intentionally fed it all to the kids.

Ok, TRYING isn't so bad. now where to put it . . .

Didn't quite get up the gumption to start on my planned airframe, so I decided to start simple. Quad- and tri-coptors are just so complicated they need control boards, so I figured I'd slap together a mono-rotor:

Awesome. You should put a counterweight on the other end and make an airfoil over the spar like a pair of helicopter blades!

Dan I think that would be great fun to play catch with the neighborhood kids! Do you have a 3000 battery to hook up to it?

BWAHahaahaaa Just got a survey in my inbox from Hobby King. They wanted to know how my last order went. I figured I had 5 mins to kill so why not give em some feedback. I clicked the link to the survey and a page popped up. "Thank you for taking our survey" with a Done button. I clicked the Done button and it brought me to the HK home page. Maybe Im just tired but I find that humorous

Naw, no kids playing in the neighborhood. Xbox/PS took care of that.

gotta say, you were a little harsh on HK in that survey. maybe be a little kinder in how you klick OK next time!

Counterweight? don't you see the one attached?

what you don't see is the pivot hole in the middle of the beam, and the 25 lb vice that comletes the "airframe". there's also a screw mounted under the left side to press against a kitchen scale -- a poor-man's thrust meter.

worked great, but still bears the name "whirling-blade-of-death".

I knocked over the telescope. The tube is smashed around the eyepiece. My binocular tripod is now my ground station. Sigh...
