Something between. Tried my hand at the refitted air-hogs titian Idea posted to articles a couple of days ago . . . well sorta. hard mounted motor/esc/rx instead of power pod, so not really like the article either. But other than a little less drag on the nose and a CG closer to the stock glider, made the same build choices as the post.

More I think about it, I'm fighting my noob-ness. Maiden toss was WOT, with no wind. Wings aren't making enough lift yet to fight the torque and over it goes, and no ailerons to bring it back. Pathetic -- I'm fighting too much torque from a 24g motor! It is the biggest motor I've flown, by far.

Crashed my Super Cub last night due to low light and lack of orientation. Fuse cracked in half at the battery compartment (where it always breaks). Didn't maiden the Corsair because I realized I soldered up my battery adapter backwards. At least it was before I plugged it in and made the magic white smoke come out of the esc. The Surfer didn't fly because my replacement servo wasn't working. Still had a great time flying with a couple of kids from my RC Club from 2 yrs ago!

Well I'm pretty sure a power pod will get rid of the spin. I added a pic of the rudder and elev. The rudder is about 3inches or so if that helps. Check out my flite vid and you will see that you can get to fly really nice. Good luck and let me know how you make out.

Saw the vid -- you're boy did good (and your son too ;) ). A little white gorilla glue, a little packing tape to hold while it dries and it'll be right as rain. Gives me time to strip and re-cut control surfaces - props, OTOH, I'm running out of. (and I was just a the LHS yesterday!)

BTW, Monkey, I'm really liking this white gorilla glue! Don't remember where I saw you recommending it, but spot on for foam repair.

So you have the pleasure of seeing something you taught passed on . . . isn't that why you take that pitiful paycheck? (and the scorn of those who know nothing about your job?)

Actually, he didn't get the idea from me. I've just been too nice to him on the forum today. Ha ha!

Bah, I love my job. Pay is decent enough for me, but I do get really sick of being looked at as a burden on society by so many.

And now you sound like my scum elem. school teacher sister.

She's not scum because she's a teacher -- it's because she's my sister.

I was nice back, by agreeing with your statements.
