When to upgrade radio?

right now i have an fsi-6x, which i just found could store multiple model profiles. Unfortunately i just have 1 reciever that i swap into my different planes. Should i upgrade to something else and get more recievers? What do you guys think? Right now i have all flite test models except for some that came with transmitters. I am not really looking at a spektrum radio because i also have an elrs tinywhoop. I am looking at tx16s but it is the most expensive that radiomaster sells and with an external elrs module it goes to about $250. My hands are also kinda small. I saw the tx15, but i am concerned with the number of switches.

I would rather get something that supports dsmx like the tx16s. The pl18 is $400 and only has tge flysky protocol but the tx16s 4in1 has that protocol, dsmx, futaba, etc

... Should i upgrade to something else and get more recievers? ...
That's completely a personal choice.
The Tx you have is a very capable one. There is no "need " to update it. If you want to update it, go ahead.
When deciding what system to go with, the cost of the Rx's is likely more important than the cost of the Tx.
You will only need 1 Tx, but you will need many Rx's. I have used the multi protocol module in my Tx for many years, with great results. about a year ago I upgraded to an ELRS system, because I wanted to and it has worked great.

The 4-in-1 module that plugs into the back of the Pocket Radio.

Only reason I want to go to ELRS is range and more mixing capabilities👍
