Where to start?

Now that the cold weather has set in for the year, my son has discovered indoor flight. He is interested in learning 3D flight with one of these slow fly profile type planes.

What exactly are these called? Where can I find them? What would be a good first plane of this type be for him?

Get a soft foam indoor flyer, there’s a few of those available, they are robust and fun to fly. There‘s a couple of different manufacturers out there selling them.
