As you can see by the photo the connector to the battery has come lose and i cant figure out how to put it together again...
Any tips to the noob here?

Yes, I would say resolder is the way to go. The only other option is to find those connector pins and the crimper to go with them (not cheap) and redo them. Resoldering will work fine but I would suggest some heatshrink. It will help provide some strain relief in addition to insulting those pins in case the wire gets pulled hard enough to bend one into the other.
