Help! Wrong charger?

I'm a complete noob, so pardon my ignorance.

I bought a charger from the Flite Test store... A Walkera GA009. It has a 6 pin connector. The battery has a 4 pin connector. It says the charger is a 3S/4S charger and the battery is a 3S battery from Power Pack F

Are these compatible?

The charger has a 5 pin connector so it is set to charge 4S batteries. A quick google brought up this manual which shows (last couple of pages) that a 3S adaptor is needed to charge 3S batteries with this charger.

In a pinch, you could use this charger but you will need to remove one of the guides from the battery balance connector (the one close to the red wire) to allow it to fit.

Thanks. Very helpful.

In a pinch you do not have to balance charge every time you charge your batteries. Don`t recommend long term but a couple of charge cycles will not hurt the battery.

There's a special 4S to 3S adapter cable for that charger, but by the time you've found and bought one,it would have been a lot easier and probably cheaper to buy an iMax B3 3S charger.
