I came across Ben Harber's plans for this little Skyhawk. There's no active links anymore for any build instructions or discussions, but I had an extra 70mm EDF sitting around from his F-16 Viper build that I destroyed (see "
What Did I Crash Today, page 8")...so what the heck? I'll give it a try and see if I could figure it out.
I tried to take a few shots of the nose pieces. I'm not sure if I did them correctly, but they seemed to fit. If you've built Mid7night's Viper, you'll recognize how he does the cockpit area as its the same for the A-4. I used a couple of magnets to hold the back, but it probably doesn't need them.
I also moved the servos to under the wing, however, I would recommend to anyone else to stick to the plans and install servos on the top to avoid them being ripped out on belly landing. To prevent this, I 3D printed some servo protectors.
I'm guessing the CG is around the front chord of the wing. It seems to balance there with a 4s 3000 battery, but there's no way of knowing for sure until I can fly it.
