I’d probably start with a plywood plank on the roof of the intake and run the gear through it. Nose gear might be the hardest... not a lot of support.
im pretty close to my first prototype. wont retract but im hoping it works so bad! a mash up of like 3 different banggood landing gears i think lol. last piece should be hear this week.

Awesome, post pics (even if it doesn’t survive) I’m really curious to see what you came up with!

I was going to go a different route for the rear landing gear but ended up just using this one. All pieces can be found on banggood. I put both pieces of landing gear on the "INTAKE". My hopes are that if i need to replace something i can just build that piece. For the rear, bolt on some 3/32 ply to the landing gear and then hot glue to plane. Fronts a bit different. First glue the wood then use some servo screw to bolt the front wheel on. I only got a short flight, my battery gauge started dinging as soon as i took off. Plane looks fantastic. Takes up alot of sky pretty quick. I will have to work on slowing it down. Gonna get it all trimmed in and see how she doe for me. Maybe flaperons on the wings???? Are we suppose to add reflex or no?

Even if the thrust-addition is marginal...it's worth it for FIIIIRE! XD

My thoughts exactly.

The plane weighs in at 1.3 kg AUW right now, with two batteries. (a 2200mah 3s for the EDF and a 1300mah 4s for the boosters)
The airframe (without the fuel tank or batteries) weighs 900g. How much is normal?.. xD

I only had a crappy 64mm edf with <750g thrust, so I built two booster "fuel tanks." Costs 80g weight, but adds 350g thrust apiece.
Takes it up to 1450g thrust not factoring in the afterburner.
Other than that, everything is contained inside.

Haven't flown it yet. :)

Also I have one channel left on my reciever and I'm open to suggestions...

The plan is to assemble using gorilla glue so that all the paper can be removed. The final product will be glassed for a super smooth surface and will likely be lighter due to 1) no heavy hot glue 2) no heavy paper and will likely be faster due to the smoother surface.

Wings are slowly coming together. Since the paper is being entirely removed I need to consider strength of the wing. The paper is a better tensile strength than the glass when using WBPU. The glass gets a bit brittle and will not be prone flexing. I’m adding a carbon spar to mitigate this.

I also added some spackle to some rough areas to keep things smooth for the glass work.

It's been fun. It has been so long since I've worked with foam that I'm remembering how FAST these builds go. I hope to get the wings finished up by the weekend and then move onto glass work. Lots to do there before final assembly.

How do you apply the water to the gorilla glue?
