Soo... is this the quad the JJRC X1 should have been? I must say I do like the XK brand quite a bit.. I've had several of their previous quads, which I all liked..

So.. the XK X251 then! It's been available a few weeks now..
Here is a link to it, so you can check out the current price: XK X251 Whirlwind

And to start with.. here is my show & tell + a demo flight:

Specs:
Gyro: 6 axis
Battery: 7.4V 950mAh lipo battery
Flight time: about 12 mins
Charging time: about 60-80 mins
Control distance: 300m
Flight weight: 205g
Quadcopter size: 177 * 177 * 83 mm

seems like a couple of upgrades, carbon tubes to replace the plastic. battery, props. i assume the props are junk.. hard to balance//

my dx6i screen is crying in jealousy. it sucks compared to that back lit screen.. not sure why spectrum dose not use a decent screen. lol
iv been tempted too mod mine.. but im forcing my self to my taranis i got for as a gift..
its about time so, yeah..

the quad does look good.. nice to not have a toy tx.
the motors are 1806 probably? what about esc, 12a? hard to know with a instruction in china not even engrish. lol.
i wonder what FC it uses. and you are brave to maiden a unknown quad next to water :p heh.
these so called toy grade quads are becoming better and better.. with a few mods this would be up there with more expensive id imagine.

Haha yeah.. the other option would be to fly it through the street ;) This is safer though.. And well.. no nuts, no glory.. right? :)

Is this toy-grade? Somewhat in the middle of toy & hobby I'd say.. 1806 motors and I am Told the ESC's are indeed 12A's.. The props Seem okee-isch really.. But I'll probably slap some others on it as well :) I don't know how the ESC's will like 6x4's.. But we will find out ;)
The radio is Great indeed! It's the same as with the XK X350 I allso have.. My Futaba T14SG feels better offcourse, but I'm perfectly happy flying with this XK transmitter :)
Hmm yeah.. what FC.. some propetairy integrated board thing.. I really have NO idea to be honnest..

in this second flight I tried to determine if this X251 is suitable for beginners.. AND.. it is enough fun for more experienced pilots??

did me some test flying with the X251 :) Still flies well, and the speed is pretty o.k. I'd say.. What do you think?
