Y-Harness Short?

More of a general electronics question. I didn't see a better place for it.

I tested two 5 gm servos and they both worked fine. When I hooked them to the new, never used wire harness they failed. And now don't work.

Do servos cough up the "magic smoke"? Would a y-harness short cause it?

Is the wire Y harness wired correctly with + in the middle if not then yes the servo are fried. did you plug the servos in correctly with negative and signal wires in the right position?
