Not too much progress today got as some of the wing assembled and was able to get the upper portion of the hatch completed seem like it holds the wing really well

Yes the wing is still currently removable I’m still debating on whether I want to make the wing removable permanently or permanently fixed

well, today I got stuck in a bunch of meetings and that means I got a lot of work done on the plane. I was able to cut out the outer wing skins, attach them and finish the wing with servos. I was also able to finish the tail section covering and attach the vertical and horizontal stabilizer. As well as the Rutter and elevator servos. The symmetrical airfoil for the wings seems to have turned out really well. I had historically tried to use a ribbed design similar to balsa construction and that ended up with a tremendous amount of weight compared to the master series style of wings. So I took that methodology and applied it to both sides of the wing it came out extremely light compared we speaking and very rigid. Does anyone have a good idea for setting up the landing gear for this plane? If not I may have to grab some 20 gauge 4130 steals and cut out some landing gear that way. Also, I have updated the drawings so it has all of the wings, and stabilizers are drawn out. I have most of the fuselages internals drawn out as well.

So the top hatch has been completed the electronics have been loaded it balances are relatively well with a 1500 mA 4 cell and I hope to try and maden it this afternoon. This is just the prototype version I have several revisions I intend to do going forward with it. My current concerns are that it is a little heavy and requires a little more than 80% throttle to be able to pull vertical my hope was to get that down to 60% for vertical. There are several areas that I overbuilt the airframe so I can shave some weight in several locations on the next version. After I get it in the air today I intend to continue to work on the sketch-up plans and implement any changes in the plans that seem to make sense. I will probably fly this version for a couple of weeks if all goes well today to find out what issues bad tendencies may exist where I can refine from there.

had it up on maiden about 4 minutes motor stuttered then quit was inverted when it stopped spiraled to the ground, very little damage but motor is hot and tight took it apart bearings are good still tight? 2112 2400 KV 3s 3300battery. Going to throw another motor and see what happens I know it flies

so today the maiden went well ended up flying six packs it flies very well as a sports style plane. I’m going to be changing out the propeller in hopes of getting better thrust to weight ratio for four 3-D aerobatics. On the next generation I will focus on weight reduction I had over built it in several places and the excessive weight was notable in the air but it did allow it to punch through 14 mph winds with very little issue.

I’m going to be changing out the propeller in hopes of getting better thrust to weight ratio for four 3-D aerobatics. On the next generation I will focus on weight reduction I had over built it in several places and the excessive weight was notable in the air but it did allow it to punch through 14 mph winds with very little issue.

when build mine i will most likely make slight changes to the spline and canopy so i can have a yak 55

Is that the yak on rc groups? If so how well did it fly? It looks like like you used 2 sheets of foam like @TooJung2Die. I’m pretty sure he said 2 sheets was too heavy.

Actually turns out nmine is the 30”. I don’t know how well it will work though with a f pack motor. I’m probably gonna have to make it with a single sheet of paperless foam. I don’t know how long it’ll last, but I’m hopping it’s going to fly good!
