230 size quad or tricopter

I, for the first time, have decided to build a 230 size quad. I have looked around at some video I have become attracted to their high speed and maneuverability. This being my first truly successful quadcopter, I am slightly concerned about the ease of flight. Would it be better if I built a tricopter instead?

A quad is easier to build, fly, and repair than a Tri. Quads have fewer moving parts, behave more predictably and lack the fragile tilt's.

Not to say a Tri isn't fun or worth building, but you'll a better chance at success starting with a quad.
