3s 1400kv or 4s 980kv

Hi

I building a quad and I'm using Hobbykings Dart 400 FPV frame so I can't go bigger then 8" props.

Is there any difference performance och flight time wise between a 1400kv on 3s or 980kv on 4s.

Which would be better, and don't assume I already have 3s and 4s batteries and I don't mind using step down regulators for FPV and LEDs and stuff like that.

I'm choosing between SunnySky x2212 1400kv and 980kv.

Thanks

Stefan

the 1400 will run a bit faster at either voltage, giving you a *touch* more responsiveness, but for the same current the 980 on 4s will give you more power in more efficient regions of these motor's throttle curve.

for an FPV rig in the 400 size, zippy isn't bad, but it generally isn't a primary goal (if it is, consider looking at the 250's). You'll probably be happier with the 980kV on 4S -- longer flight times and better payload capacity.
