I bought my wife one of the Cricut Expressions that can cut 24"x12" years and years ago, no it cannot cut foam but what it can do most awesomely with a 3rd party program is cut out poster board templates.
So far I have just cut out what fits on there but I am thinking about doing some wings just in pieces and then taping them together to make near laser cut templates.
Add to that this post forum.flitetest.com/showthread.php?11848-Pure-Genius and her sewing machine that she uses even less than the cricut machine will soon be mine also.
I used inkscape to import the pdf, and then arrange it on a 12"x24" template, import it in and cut it out.
