Detachable tailplane?

Weather here is dreadful, so two things underway:

1. Indoor quadcopter (Inductrix) - great fun!
2. Prepare for the rain ceasing (as it surely must - one day...) and accepting it will still be blowing a gale - build a sloper!

So - here is my O/D freeform built without plans using TLAR method. Heavy (and therefore strong) UK foam board so single sheet under cambered wing. Wing span to fit single sheet of A1 board at 841mm.

To make it easy to transport whilst clambering up a muddy hill I decided to make the tailplane as well as the wing detachable. Here is the rough system - made with old credit card and paper clips. Final locking/retention of front end still to be completed. Slips on from the back then front hook drops into the slot. Will have rubber band retention when complete.

What do you think - strong enough for some light sloping? Anyone seen other ways to do this?

(needless to say, canopy/electronics still to be added)
