Yeah, the small basketball court size gym we fly in is just a bit too small for the umx Turbo Timber. I took a lap and half, and then let my buddy take a few stabs at it too. Pretty much had to run with full flaps and safe mode, and even then it was pretty fast.

Hi Everyone,
I'm pretty new to the hobby, or at least just recently returning. :) I never thought I'm going to build anything anytime soon, but when I saw the Edge I was like "yepp, lets do this" :D Please see a few pictures (obv. Red Bull colours) -scratch build- Living in the UK I had trouble finding the correct material, but I chose "West foam" foam board for the structural elements, and the wings and "outer shell" on the fuselage is made out of 6mm depron. Overall I'm not to proud of the quality, but cant wait to put it in the air and see how it flies :) (also ran out of vinyl, fix it later :D )

Beautiful! The edge is a gorgeous airplane - I’m kinda obsessed with them! Yours really looks good!

You guys are turning out some amazing planes! I am halfway on my Edge build and I was hoping for some numbers on throws. I built a FT3D a few years back and I beat the plane up trying to get a good grasp on how much throw I needed to have. I have an FT trainer, Scout, Bushwhacker and Mini Mustang as well. I am not the most confident RC pilot so I like to start pretty slow. Do you guys have some angles to shoot for? Thanks in advance for the advice

Nice! Get some video so we all can enjoy :)

I could't get any shots of the maiden, but turned out to be a success. The plane is absolutely underpowered for a 3D, but it was plenty for a nice and dynamic acrobatic flight. The plane is 1050g, so a bit overweight but hey ho. I've set the CG a bit more forward for more speed and it was a dream. I've flown it a couple of times, but for the last two weeks it's been sitting on the top of a tree :D Caught it on landing approach... nvm

That sucks about the hungry tree, took me 8 months to finally get half a model out of the tree and it was just the wind that helped me there. Is it to high to get with a long stick or tent poles to poke out of the branches

If you set it up like Andres suggests in the video, then dial it back to 40% throws, 30% expo, it’ll probably be close to what you want. You could even go to 30% throws. My low rates are 65% throws and it’s still insanely maneuverable. It would be better however to go the farthest out hole in the control horn and the middle hole on the servo arm. Then I’d dial low rates at 80% throws. That will give you more precision on the servos movement.
