I’ve flown a free paper aircraft designed by paperaircrafts.com called the…freeby. I use it in my avionics class to teach aerodynamics, C of G and to see who can follow instructions.
I then made a model based on the plans on an A3 print to get a feel of the material and see how easy it is to work with.
I needed to convert the triangle nose to the A Powerpack based on the P-51
And had plenty of trial and error until I went back to the theory of triangles.
It’s a little bit F100 Supersaber but works.
I made a mock up
And worked on the wing. Again, trying to convert a paper aircraft design into a foam aircraft using the mini P-51 as a guide for architecture and design.
So, I haven’t cut or constructed yet as I’ve got to this point and have gone on holiday. I live in New Zealand and it took a while to get my power pack delivered. Crazy times.
I’m also doing this project with a friend and we will make 2.
Will post more photos when I get back to Marlborough.
