Bonkers is sort of my specialty. Any number of folks on these pages will give me crap for that but I like what I like. My joy is getting lost in the details.

The SE5a rolled out of the hangar for some sunlight today. Next up paint and 3D parts.
I added the headrest fairing behind the canopy and wheel pants parts since last update.

I hope that a lot of beginning scratch builders are taking notes from this build. This is how scratch building goes. You do not simply slap stuff together in one weekend or two. It takes time and there's joy in the journey, not just the result. All of these little things here and there are adding up fast now and you can really see how it makes a project become alive. Keep Swinging away at this. I really look forward to the end result.

So true. I’ve had to lay my Sopwith Pup build aside for a couple of weeks due to life stuff, but had time to throw together a Simple Stick type thing in an evening. If you’ve got no plans and every decision needs thought then a scratch build takes time!

Going through my inventory of pilots that survived other services to find one that is scale enough and looks great in a biplane.

Yeah, as much as that pilot looks like a psyco baby with beady eyes, the wrong size pilot in the cockpit will throw off an entire build.
