INSPIRATION
I was asked to try my hand at designing the Luscombe Silvaire from a forum friend, @kilroy07 . He explained how he loved and hated this plane. He loved it for the memories he has with his father in it (see below), but he hated the elbow grease required to shine this beaut' up. "Motorized polishing is to aggressive and eat holes through the thin skin" elbow grease was the ONLY way...
I took it on for him and it fit into the FTFC20 - Classic to Modern challenge and I added it as an entry. I also really love the smooth/ rounded fuselage, and the wing plan form. It was going to be a new technique again and design a Master Series Plane. and thereby worth all the marbles. so I got to work. A started with sketchup, flattened and the fit curves to the sections. Turned out great!
