Help teaching a parent to fly

One of my parents wishes to fly RC. I'm not sure where to start or what plane/Radio gear to get them first. Any tips?

If the parent is anything like me you will need to buy slow, cheap and rugged for the plane and a radio system with a few features like Expo, dual rate and preferably antenna diversity. Normally something to enable you to "Buddy Box" in case he actually allows you to help him. (No one could teach me to fly I had to do it all myself, I had an aircraft graveyard to prove it)!

A pusher would be better but then anything made of FB would be better than retail. Ohh! a box of FB, a sharp knife and a glue gun are mandatory!
