Help! Did I really fry my receiver?

I have a FrSky S8R receiver and an mlvss(mini LiPo voltage sensor) just arrived. I plugged battery into esc, (esc was already plugged into receiver) I then plugged the sensor into the receiver via the smart-port and plugged battery balance lead into the sensor only, I plugged it in backwards. I think there might’ve been a tiny blue spark. Anyway, the voltage sensor seems fine but the receiver doesn’t seem to be working at all (the led doesn’t even light up). I’m really hoping that there’s some kind of safe mode that the receiver is in and/or that I can maybe reset it. It seems crazy to me that it would kill it and not the sensor although I fear that’s what just happened... any ideas?

These things are not very immune to such things. Been there, done similar. It's always a sinking feeling when it happens, and then it is a matter of checking each part individually to see what fried and what survived.
