Brilliant community you have got going here! Self confessed Newb! I'm trying to source the equivalent build material here in France, can anyone help? I think I have found the equivalent of poster board (carton plume for those interested!) but what thickness for the P40 for example, 3, 5 or more mm?

It's 5mm, but if you cut the gaps smaller, you can use 3mm poster board.

Welcome to the forums
The weight of the FB can be an issue. Here in the US we have 2 brands that work the best. A 20x30 inch sheet will weigh about 4 Oz. Planes make with heavier FB will fly just fine, but without any changes they will be tail heavy. You may need to lengthen the nose to get the correct CG.
