So i plan on buying this plane https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BTQCNMM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

but i however am not sure on what type of connector is compatible. It is suggesting that i order this battery but id much rather use the 3 cell batteries i use for my quad in it so i dont have to go buy more batteries... https://www.amazon.com/Flyzone-LiPo...rd_wg=72fz7&psc=1&refRID=SJBVQCY8Y6TSVRVTQTF2

Im not sure what type of connector that is on that battery is called. and what type of adapter i need. I fell like the whole "male and female" is opposite in the rc world.

I think those are what I know as "Banana" connectors. Don't know if that's the official term or not. What type of connector is on the batteries you already have?

The battery you linked has a Super Tigre connector, which is IIRC the connector that comes on the Calypso as well. Those batteries are terribly overpriced, I think I paid ~$25CDN for Tattu 45C which is much better than the crap 15C on the one linked.

I wouldn't bother with an adapter though, just get the correct connector for the batteries you have and solder it to the ESC.

The male and female thing can seem opposite, but it really refers to the pins inside the connectors, not the connector bodies.

My recommendation is to choose a favorite connector. My favorites are the EC3 and XT60 types. If you have a LiPo source from whom you expect to buy most of your LiPo's and that source already has a preferred connector presoldered on it then that would be a logical one to choose.

This process might be a little more involved initially but in the long run it keeps builds more simple and less cluttered.
